Police investigate Hawthorn East burglaries

Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after two burglaries in Hawthorn East this month.

Investigators have been an unknown man attended a business in Camberwell Road about 7pm on 12 November.

It is believed the man made his way to the back area of the business, where he stole a staff member's wallet containing a quantity of cash.

Officers have been told the man then dumped the wallet in a nearby bin before leaving the store.

Investigators believe the same man attended another business on Camberwell Road about 8.20pm on 12 November.

Police believe the man has entered the back area of a restaurant, before stealing approximately $5,000.

Investigators have released CCTV and images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.

The man is described as having an olive complexion and is bald.

He was seen wearing a light blue long sleeve top, jeans and runners.
