Police investigate serious assault atAdelaide, South Australia

Police are investigating an assault that has left a man in hospital with serious head injuries.

About 11.40pm on Friday 28 August, police were called to the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Staff had notified them of a patient who had been brought in about 10pm that night after being assaulted by four men in a car park of a school on West Terrace, Adelaide.

The 24-year-old West Beach man remains in hospital in a critical condition, and investigators are trying to determine if the victim and suspects knew each other.

It is believed he may have visited the Welland Shopping Centre car park earlier in the evening, and investigators are appealing to anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in either area to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
