Police investigate theft of purse in Bacchus Marsh

Police are investigating a theft from outside a shopping centre in Bacchus Marsh earlier this month, Victoria Police say.

About 2.10pm a woman has dropped her purse whilst in a car park on Main Street on 1 August.

It is believed a man walking past has approached and stolen the purse.

He then walked away from the woman with no attempt to notify her that she had dropped her belongings.

The man then walked inside and entered a business within the shopping centre, before exiting a short time after.

The male is perceived as being in his mid-to-late 40s, approximately 170cm tall, a medium to solid build, dark hair, with a handlebar moustache.

He was wearing a red shirt, dark coloured pants, a chequered print jacket, dark coloured work boots, and a black cap.

Police have released images of the male in the hope someone may recognise them.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
