Police lay assault charges at Brighton

Carseldine detectives have charged a man with domestic violence and assault offences at Brighton today.

Police will allege local officers attended a Queens Parade address to check on the welfare of a woman at 11am today.

It will be further alleged two officers were assaulted by a man who was at the house.

A 31-year-old Brighton man has been charged with three counts of assault (domestic violence offence) and one count each of strangulation (domestic violence offence) and unlawful stalking. He has also been charged with three counts of serious assault police and one count of grievous bodily harm.

He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, December 24.

A woman aged in her thirties, who is known to the man, is receiving ongoing support.

A male Senior Constable is receiving treatment in hospital for his injuries.
