Police lay charges after property stolen during Lismore floods

A man has been charged after property allegedly stolen during a flood was located in the state's north.

On Wednesday 9 March 2022, officers attached to Richmond Police District commenced inquiries after receiving reports that approximately 50 refrigerators had been stolen from a business on Snow Street, South Lismore.

Following investigations, officers executed a search warrant at a property on Regency Crescent, Goonellabah, at 9.30am, Monday 22 August 2022.

During the search, police seized one refrigerator, three pressure washers, one Wacker Packer, and illicit drugs.

A 38-year-old man was arrested and taken to Lismore Police Station, where he was charged with:

  • Larceny >$15,000
  • Dispose of stolen property
  • Two counts of goods on premises suspected to be stolen
  • Two counts of possess prohibited drug

The man was refused bail to appear at Lismore Local Court today (Monday 22 August 2022).
