A woman has been charged following an investigation into a fatal crash on the South Coast last year.
About 10am on Tuesday 22 September 2020, emergency services were called to Gerroa Road, between Berry and Shoalhaven Heads, following reports two a Kia Sportage and a Suzuki Vitara had collided head-on.
Three female occupants from the Kia were treated at the scene. The rear passenger, a 97-year-old woman, died at the scene, while the 69-year-old driver and 76-year-old passenger were taken to hospital for treatment to internal injuries.
The 32-year-old female driver and sole occupant of the Suzuki, who was trapped for a short period of time, was taken to hospital with leg and internal injuries.
Officers from South Coast Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by the Crash Investigation Unit.
Following inquiries, earlier this week (Wednesday 10 February 2021), the 32-year-old woman was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for dangerous driving occasioning death, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm. Her licence has been suspended.
She is due to appear in Nowra Local Court on Monday 3 May 2021.
