Police make arrest after incident in Northbridge

Perth Detectives have charged two people as a result of their investigation into a stealing with violence incident that occurred in Northbridge on 13 June 2021.

It is alleged just after midnight a 31-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were walking along the footpath on William Street near Roe Street when they were assaulted by a group not known to them.

The woman was thrown to the ground, kicked a number of times and had her handbag stolen. The man was punched a number of times and received a laceration to the top of his head. Both were conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

A 13-year-old girl from Beeliar has been charged with Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm and Aggravated Robbery. She is due to appear in the Perth Children's Court on 6 August 2021.

An 18-year-old man from Orelia has been charged with Stealing from a Person of Another and is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 23 July 2021.
