Police make arrest over unlawful entry in Alice Springs 1 September

Northern Territory Police have arrested two youth in relation to the unlawful entry of a clothing store in Alice Springs last week.

Two females, aged 13 and 14-years-old used a hammer to cause damage in their attempt to gain entry into the back of a store on Bath Street before midnight on Thursday 27 August.

Police working in the Alice Springs watch house alerted mobile police patrols after hearing the girls attempting to gain entry into the rear of the store. Officers arrived on scene and arrested a 13-year-old female.

The 14-year-old female fled the scene and was arrested in relation to the incident the following day.

The 13-year-old female was charged and remanded in custody until today and the 14-year-old female was charged and remanded in custody to appear before the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court on 3 September, 2020.
