Police Make Arrest - Sexual Assault In Darwin 17 April

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to an alleged sexual assault in Darwin City early this morning.

Around 2.30am, Northern Territory Police CCTV operators identified a man allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on Cavenagh Street, Darwin City.

Officers quickly responded, arresting the 34-year-old man who remains in custody.

Detectives from Sex Crimes are continuing to investigate the incident and at this stage it is believed the alleged offender was not known to the victim.

Northern Territory Police urge anyone who witnessed, or who has dash-cam footage of the assault to come forward and call 131 444 and quote reference number P24104672.
