Police release CCTV images following robbery in Punchbowl

Police have released images of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries following an aggravated robbery in Sydney’s south west last month, NSW Police say.

Just after 9:30pm on Friday 30 December 2016, a woman was leaving Punchbowl Railway Station, when she was grabbed from behind by her backpack, causing her to fall to the ground.

The man attempted to take the woman’s backpack while she lay on the ground. A sum of money fell from the woman’s pants, which the man picked up before he fled from the scene.

Officers from Campsie Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Police have released images of a man who might be able to assist with inquiries.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 158-170cm tall, and of slim build. He is seen wearing a long sleeved green jacket with a hood pulled up over his head, shorts and joggers.
