Police responding to traffic crash at Molendinar 4 October

Forensic Crash Unit are investigating a serious traffic crash at Molendinar overnight.

Preliminary inquiries indicate at 7.25pm a utility was headed southbound on the Smith Street onramp to the Pacific Motorway when it has slowed to merge into the traffic.

A sedan following, has crashed into the rear of the utility at speed.

A passenger in the sedan, a 32-year-old Nerang woman, was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the sedan, a 34-year-old Nerang man, was also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
