Police seek information: Hit and run at Hervey Bay

An e-bike rider has been injured after being struck by a vehicle, with the driver failing to remain at the scene of the incident in Pialba on Saturday, December 16.

Initial information suggests around 5.15pm the e-bike rider was travelling through the roundabout at Beach Road and Boat Harbour Drive, when a small, light-coloured vehicle collided with his bike and a road sign.

The driver did not stop following the crash, despite the car sustaining damage to the front and right side.

Other passing motorists stopped and helped the 67-year-old e-bike rider, who was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators are appealing for the driver to come forward, by attending a local police station.

They're also asking witnesses and anyone with information or dashcam vision that may assist police with their investigations, to contact police.
