Serious Crash in Hamelin Pool, WA

Shark Bay Police are seeking the public’s assistance for information regarding a serious crash that occurred yesterday, Saturday 10 June 2017 in Hamelin Pool.

Around 9am, a man was driving a white Nissan Patrol towing a caged trailer north along the North West Coastal Highway. Near the mileage signpost WM40, the vehicle and trailer drifted onto the gravel shoulder. The driver lost control and the vehicle rolled several times, WA Police say.

The 38 year old male driver and his 39 year old female passenger were thrown from the vehicle. Four children aged between 7 and 12 years of age were rear passengers in the vehicle.

The adults received serious injuries and were flown by the Royal Flying Doctor Service to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

Two of the children received minor injuries and all four children (three boys and one girl) were flown by the Royal Flying Doctor Service to Princess Margaret Hospital.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the crash, or the Nissan Patrol prior to the crash.
