Successful Law, AI & Digitalisation Meetup

Last month, on March 19th, Leiden Law School hosted the first Law, AI & Digitalisation Meetup, a collaborative initiative organised by the departments of Public Law, Civil Law, eLaw, and Business Studies. The afternoon event featured engaging pitch sessions, informative poster presentations, and networking opportunities, bringing together researchers from various departments at the Law Faculty to discuss their work within the field of Law and AI/Digitalisation.

The program of the meetup consisted of three pitch sessions and a poster session focusing on the topics of Safety & Accountability, Digitalisation & Consumer Law, Platforms, Legal Tech, and Digitalisation & Government. These sessions provided valuable insights into current research at our faculty and fostered an environment for knowledge exchange. Our department's Technology & Innovation research group was well-represented, Masha Medvedeva (Business Studies/eLaw) who was also one of the organisers of the event delivered a pitch on her research on Legal Judgment Prediction. Kimia Heidary (Business Studies/eLaw) and Daria Morozova (Business Studies) showcased their work through poster presentations titled Online Price Discrimination and AI at Work in Organisations respectively.

The meetup was a resounding success, drawing attendees from multiple departments who appreciated the chance to learn from each other and explore potential collaborations.
