Suspicious fire near Dungog, NSW

Police are appealing for information as they investigate a suspicious fire at a property in the Port Stephens Local Area Command this morning, NSW Police say.

About 2.20am today, emergency services were called to a rural property on Salisbury Road, Salisbury (about 40km north west of Dungog), following reports of a machinery shed on fire.

Rural Fire Service officers attended and extinguished the blaze; however, the shed, which contained machinery and motor vehicles, was completely destroyed.

No one was injured.

Officers from Port Stephens Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was forensically examined.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone with information on the fire, which is being treated as suspicious, to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
