At about 10:10am on Tuesday, 4 October 2016, Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police attended a report of a house fire in Mornington Drive, Ravenswood, Tasmania Police say.
Upon arrival, the residence was engulfed in flames.
The fire was extinguished by fire crews a short time later.
The occupants of the residence were not home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries as a result of the incident.
There is significant damage to the house and the approximate value of the damage is $170,000.
Forensic Services and CIB officers also attended the scene.
At this stage, police are treating the fire as suspicious.
Investigations are continuing as to the cause of the fire.
Police are speaking to a number of witnesses and would like anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
