Teenager charged after man stabbed in Parramatta

A teenage girl has been charged following investigations into a stabbing at Parramatta on the weekend, NSW Police say.

Police will allege about 8.15pm on Sunday 17 September 2017, a 22-year-old man was in Parramatta Park when he was assaulted by a number of females.

During the assault, a 17-year-old girl allegedly produced a knife and stabbed the man in the buttocks, before the group fled the scene.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene and conveyed the man to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Parramatta Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced investigations.

On Monday 18 September 2017, officers attached to Police Transport Command arrested a 14-year-old boy at Blacktown Railway Station for an unrelated matter.

A knife allegedly used in the offence was located in the possession of the boy and was secured for forensic analysis.

Following further inquiries, officers arrested a 17-year-old girl at Hurstville Railway Station about 5.40pm today.

She was taken to Kogarah Police Station where she was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and affray.

The girl was refused bail to appear before a Children’s Court tomorrow.

Inquiries are continuing.
