Teenager Charged After Stabbing At Gunnedah

A teenage boy has been charged following a stabbing in the state's north west.

About 5pm on Saturday (27 April 2024), emergency services were called to a property at Wandaobah Road, Gunnedah, following reports of a stabbing.

A 20-year-old man was taken to Gunnedah Hospital with an arm wound, before being transported to Tamworth Base Hospital for treatment for a non-life threatening injury.

Officers from Oxley Police District commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

At 2:20pm yesterday (Monday 29 April 2024), police arrested a teenage boy, aged 14, at McAndrew Park, Gunnedah.

He was taken to Gunnedah Police Station and charged with affray and armed with intent to commit indictable offence.

He was refused bail to appear before a Children's Court today (Tuesday 30 April 2024).
