Teens charged after pursuit, break and enter in Dubbo

A 17-year-old boy has been charged following a police pursuit through Dubbo, NSW Police say.

Police were patrolling when they saw a Commodore being driven along Erskine Street without number plates about 10pm yesterday.

Police will allege the driver ignored a direction to stop, and a pursuit was initiated. It was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.

Acting on information, officers today, arrested a 17-year-old boy at his home in Dubbo.

He was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with

• Police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly (Skye’s law)

• Drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous

• Learner not accompanied by driver/police officer/tester

• Learner driver not display "L" plates as required

• Use unregistered registrable Class A motor vehicle

• Use uninsured motor vehicle

• Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen

• Larceny

• Break, enter and steal

• Aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence (in company), and,

• Receive/dispose stolen property.

The last four charges relate to several alleged break and enters on a home in Dubbo between Boxing Day and 28 December 2016.

Police later arrested a 15-year-old boy and charged him with aggravated break, enter and steal in relation to the same alleged incident.

Both were refused bail and will appear in a children’s court via video link tomorrow.
