Three children charged with armed robbery in Illawarra

Three children have been charged with an armed robbery in the Illawarra early this morning, NSW Police say.

Police have been told just before 1am today, three boys entered a service station on Winnama Way, Berkeley, armed with knives.

The boys have allegedly threatened the employee with of the boys striking the employee with the butt of a knife.

The boys then left the store in possession of cash and cigarettes.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command were alerted to the incident.

Following investigations, three boys, aged 13, 14 and 14, were arrested at a home on Northcliffe Drive and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.

They have all been charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon

All three boys will all appear before a children’s court today.
