Two arrested, three hospitalised after affray in Redfern

Two men have been arrested and three men hospitalised following a brawl in Redfern overnight, NSW Police say.

Police from Redfern Local Area Command were called to a store on Redfern Street about 11.30pm today responding to an assault.

Police arrived to find a brawl had broken out inside a convenience store involving five men.

Police used OC spray to disperse the men.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the men.

A 24-year-old man was treated for injuries to his ribs before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.

A second man, aged 31, was treated at the scene for the effects of OC spray before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.

A third man, aged 24, was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for facial lacerations and was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment.

Two men, aged 21 and 26, were arrested nearby.

Both men were taken to Redfern Police Station where they were later released pending further inquiries.

Inquiries are continuing and police wish to speak to any witnesses and are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
