Two charged after train seats damaged in Katoomba

Two teenagers will face court next month after allegedly damaging seats on a train in the Blue Mountains earlier this month, NSW Police say.

The seats were allegedly removed from trains travelling between Lithgow and Katoomba Railway Stations between 10.20pm and 11.20pm on Tuesday 14 February 2017.

The incidents were reported to officers attached to the Police Transport Command and an investigation commenced.

Following inquiries, two 19-year-old men attended Lithgow Police Station on 21 February 2017.

They were arrested and released pending further inquiries.

After further investigation, about 9.30am tomorrow, both men attended Lithgow Police Station where they were served Future Service Court Attendance Notices for malicious damage.

They are due to appear at Lithgow Local Court on Thursday 13 April 2017.
