Two Men Charged Following Police Operation In Ulverstone, TAS

Police have charged two men with multiple offences following a significant police operation and subsequent arrests in Ulverstone yesterday, Tasmania Police say.

  • A 27-year-old Burnie man has been charged with Aggravated Burglary x4, Attempted Aggravated Burglary x2, Burglary x5, Arson, Motor Vehicle Stealing, Stealing x11, Possess Firearm in Contravention of Firearm Prohibition Order, Stealing Firearm, Evade Police x2, Drive whilst Disqualified x7, Dangerous Driving, Trespass and other driving offences. He will appear in the Burnie court later today.
  • A 24-year-old Burnie man has been charged with Aggravated Burglary x2 and Stealing x2. He was bailed to appear before the Burnie court at a later date.

"The police investigation is ongoing and it is anticipated further charges will be laid,"
said Detective Acting Inspector Tony Stewart.

"Police have seized a vast quantity of property as part of the investigation, some of which has not been reported stolen."

"Property owners in the area are urged to check remote buildings to ensure they have not been the victim of a burglary in the last week, and if they have, to report it to their local police station."

"I again thank the public for their assistance, cooperation and understanding over the last few days."
