Unlawful Use Of Motor Vehiclein Brisbane

Police have charged two men after the pair were tracked by Polair and arrested in relation to several alleged property offences across Brisbane over the past four days.

It will be alleged the two men stole a Ford Falcon from an address at Nudgee between midnight and 6am on April 21. It was one of four cars taken from the same address.

Just after 6pm on the same day, Polair tracked the stolen car and observed it being driven dangerously across Carindale and Coorparoo.

The car was then observed to mount a curb and crash at the intersection of French Street and Old Cleveland Road, Coorparoo, where two people allegedly exited the vehicle and left the scene on foot.

Police caught up with them a short distance away, where they were taken into custody.

A 20-year-old Brighton man has been charged with 12 offences, including three counts of enter dwelling and commit, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle.

He is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court today, April 22.

It will be alleged the man was also involved in multiple break and enters, attempted break and enters, and stealing offences in suburbs at Stafford, Everton Park, Wavell Heights, Nudgee and Chermside West between April 19 and 21.

A 20-year-old Lutwyche man has been charged with one count of enter dwelling and commit and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court today, April 22.

Investigations are ongoing.
