Unlawful wounding in Parramatta Park, QLD

Detectives have charged a woman following an incident in which a man was wounded in Parramatta Park last night, Queensland Police say.

Preliminary investigations indicate around 10pm a man and woman had become involved in a physical altercation at an address on Terminus Street.

It will be alleged upon leaving the property the woman armed herself with a knife, wounding the man.

The woman was arrested a short distance away.

A 27-year-old Parramatta Park man was transported to the Cairns Base Hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening cut to the upper thigh.

A 21-year-old woman has been charged with wounding and is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on August 14.
