Update: Two Further Arrested in Wakeley Public Unrest

Two more men will face court tomorrow (Thursday 25 April 2024) charged by officers investigating a public order incident at Wakeley earlier this week.

Strike Force Dribs was set up to investigate the violent incidents outside a Wakeley church on Monday 15 April 2024, following the alleged attack of a 53-year-old religious leader.

About 12.45pm today (Wednesday 24 April 2024), a 52-year-old man attended Fairfield Police Station where he was placed under arrest.

Later this afternoon, about 2.15pm, a 31-year-old man also attended Fairfield Police Station where he placed under arrest.

The 53-year-old man was charged with riot, and assault police officer during public disorder no aggravated bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday (25 April 2024).

The 31-year-old man was charged with riot and throw missile at police officer at public disorder no aggravated bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday (25 April 2024).

Investigations are continuing under Strike Force Dribs.
