Upgrade Begins on Larapuna/Eddystone Point Boat Ramp

Nick Duigan, Minister for Parks and Environment

Significant upgrades are planned for the larapuna/Eddystone Point boat ramp to improve the facility for all users.

Minister for Parks and Environment, Nick Duigan said while there will unfortunately be some disruptions during this time the works will result in improved outcomes for the community.

"The boat ramp upgrade includes the addition of a walkway and is part of the Rockliff Liberal Government's $1,015,000 North East Parks and Reserves Upgrades project," Minister Duigan said.

From 29 April to 7 June the site will be temporarily closed to the general public.

"The timing of these works is subject to tides and weather conditions; however every effort will be made to minimise the duration of the site closure," Minister Duigan said.

"Ultimately these works are being carried out to ensure all Tasmanians can access our waters safely while going out to catch a feed for their families.

"Only the Rockliff Liberal Government has a strong plan to ensure our fishers have enjoyable fishing experiences."

Alternative boat ramp facilities can be found at Musselroe Bay, The Gardens and Binalong Bay.
