Ute driver charged after motorcyclist dies near Bowral, NSW

A man will face court next month after a fatal crash south of Bowral yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 3.20pm today, a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Mitsubishi Triton utility collided while travelling south on the Hume Motorway near Wingello, south of Bowral.

The motorcyclist, a 58 year-old man, died at the scene.

The driver of the Mitsubishi Triton, a 24-year-old man, stopped after the crash.

Officers from The Hume Local Area Command and the Traffic and Highway Patrol command attended and commenced an investigation, assisted by the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

The ute driver was taken to Bowral Hospital for mandatory testing.

About 11.10pm, the man met police at Bowral Police Station and was arrested.

He has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, and negligent driving occasioning death.

The man, from Victoria, was granted conditional bail to appear at Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday 24 January 2017.
