Van and truck collide at Bridgewater, SA

Police and emergency service are at the scene of a serious crash at Bridgewater, according to SA Police.

A van and truck collided on Mount Barker Road, Bridgewater just after 11am on Monday 27 March.

The female driver of the van was trapped in her vehicle for about 45 minutes before CFS crews could cut her free. She has been taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious injuries. A toddler in a rear car seat seems to have escaped injury, but has been taken to the Women's and Children's Hospital for a check-up.

The truck driver was not injured.

Mount Barker Road is closed to traffic while Major Crash investigators attend and examine the scene.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and police ask any witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
