War medals stolen during Moonee Ponds burglary

Moonee Valley Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a burglary in Moonee Ponds last month, Victoria Police say.

It’s believed unknown offenders entered a Turner Street home sometime between the morning of 1 September and the evening of 3 September.

Whilst in the house thieves stole a number of miniature World War II and Vietnam War medals, along with a Victorian Cadet Forces Service Medal.

An amount of costume jewellery was also stolen.

Investigators have released images of the medals in the hope that someone recognises them and they can be returned to their owner.

The Vietnam War medals have the number ‘21872’ engraved on their rear, while the Victorian Cadet Forces Service Medal has ‘8020539’ inscribed.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
