Witnesses sought over collision, NSW

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision between a car and a pedestrian in St Johns Park yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 6pm today, police have been told a 75-year-old woman was crossing Edensor Road towards a bowling club.

The woman was struck by a white Toyota Hiace, driven by a 62-year-old man.

She was taken to Liverpool Hospital and is now in a critical condition; suffering fractures to her ribs and leg, and internal injuries.

The driver was not injured. He was breathed tested at the scene which returned a negative result.

Police attached to Fairfield Local Area Command are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the collision or an elderly woman of Asian appearance who was on the road around the time of the collision to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
