A woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed near Wollongong this morning, NSW Police say.
About 6.10am (27 October 2015), emergency services were called to Central Road, Unanderra, following reports a man had been stabbed.
Police have been told two men – aged 28 and 58 – were involved in a physical altercation when a woman intervened and allegedly stabbed the younger man.
The injured man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Wollongong Hospital.
Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attended and arrested a 24-year-old woman at the scene.
She was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where she is assisting police with their inquiries.
The incident is domestic related.
