Woman charged after fatal pedestrian crash in Mudgee

A woman has been charged after a fatal pedestrian crash in the state’s Central West in August.

Shortly before 10.30am (18 August 2016) a 69-year-old woman was walking across a pedestrian crossing on Market Street, Mudgee, when she was hit by a vehicle, NSW Police say.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended; however the woman died at the scene.

The 84-year-old female driver was treated at the scene before she was taken to Mudgee District Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Following inquiries, the woman was charged today, with dangerous driving occasioning death, not give way to pedestrian on crossing and negligent driving (occasioning death).

She is due to appear at Mudgee Local Court on Wednesday 30 November 2016.
