Woman hit with hammers at Craigmore, SA

Elizabeth Police are investigating a break-in and assault at Craigmore last night, according to SA Police.

About 10.20pm on Sunday 26 March, six masked men forced their way into a home in Callana Court, Craigmore and assaulted the female occupant.

The intruders were armed with hammers and the woman sustained leg injuries, including bruising, swelling, lacerations and a possible leg fracture.

They then smashed property and left.

A cream or tan four wheel drive was seen leaving the street at the time of the offence.

The men were wearing balaclavas, black clothing and white surgical gloves.

The victim was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital. Her injuries are not life-threatening.

While the investigation is in its early stages, this is not believed to be a random incident.
