CommBank Junior Matildas Squad Update

CommBank Junior Matildas midfielder Shelby McMahon has been withdrawn from AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup Indonesia 2024™ following a recent shin injury.

Melbourne City's McMahon was ruled out of their A-League Women's Grand Final fixture this Saturday due to the injury.

New South Wales midfielder Amelia Bennett has earned the call up joining players and staff in Ubud, Bali on Thursday. Bennett was a part of the Cairns' pre-camp with the U17s Women's National Team and makes a seamless transition into the final 23-player squad.

The CommBank Junior Matildas will open their AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup Indonesia 2024™ Group B campaign on Tuesday, 7 May 2024 (6.00pm AEST) against China PR on at Bali United Training Center.

A meeting with defending champions Japan (10 May at 9.00pm AEST) will follow before the group stage is completed against Thailand (13 May at 6.00pm AEST).

The continental championships format sees the eight participating nations divided into two groups of four. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout semi-final phase. AFC's representatives at the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup Dominican Republic 2024™ will be determined by the top three nations from the competition.
