In a proactive step towards sustainable growth and housing, Kiama Council is inviting landowners to nominate potential development sites for inclusion in the Growth and Housing Strategy.

The invitation includes developers who have the consent of the landowner.

Director Planning, Environment and Communities Jessica Rippon said this initiative was a fundamental part of Council's commitment to developing a Growth and Housing Strategy in partnership with all sections of our community, including landowners and developers.

"We encourage all eligible landowners to take this opportunity to be part of the work being done to shape future development through sustainable growth and housing solutions," Ms Rippon said.

"The idea is to pinpoint locations that strategically align with our Growth and Housing Strategy, rather than a blanket invitation for anyone with a spare block."

"Only sites deemed to possess strategic merit will be considered for inclusion."

Ms Rippon said all nominations would undergo a thorough evaluation process, including assessment against set criteria and other relevant considerations.

This includes adherence to normal planning processes.

Council has also developed a probity plan to ensure the interests of Council and our community are protected, and the commercial sensitivities of landowners and developers respected.

This includes treating as confidential certain details of evaluations and findings.
