Nominations Open For 2024 WA Youth Awards

  • Nominations for Western Australia's annual WA Youth Awards are now open
  • The Awards have been celebrating young people for 25 years

Youth Minister Hannah Beazley has today announced nominations for the 2024 WA Youth Awards are now open.

The WA Youth Awards celebrate young Western Australians aged 10 to 25 years by recognising and rewarding them for their achievements and significant work within the community.

Nominations are now open for the following categories:

  • Minister for Youth's Most Outstanding Youth Worker Award;
  • Commissioner for Children and Young People Participate Award;
  • MercyCare Positive Achievement Award;
  • Edith Cowan University Community Leadership Award;
  • Parkerville Children and Youth Care Creative Contribution Award;
  • The Y WA Collective Action Award;
  • Youth Focus Sector Collaboration Award;
  • Youth Futures Innovation for a Sustainable Future Award;
  • Mission Australia Young Changemaker Award;
  • Carers WA Milestone Award; and
  • The Charmaine Dragun Memorial Award.

Category winners will each receive a $1,000 prize, while the WA Young Person of the Year Award comes with a $10,000 project allowance to pursue youth-related initiatives across WA.

Nominations close on Friday, 28 June 2024 with winners to be announced on Friday, 20 September 2024 at The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom.

"The WA Youth Awards have been recognising them and celebrating the achievements of the incredible young people in our State for 25 years.

"I encourage everyone to consider nominating any outstanding young person aged 10 to 25 in their community for one of the many categories available."
