- Western Australian households to receive at least $700 in electricity credits as a result of the State and Federal Budgets
- More than 90,000 small businesses to receive $725 in electricity credits
- State and Federal Labor delivering for WA, with electricity credits to roll out next financial year
Western Australian households and small businesses are the big winners following last week's State Budget and yesterday's Federal Budget, with more than 1.1 million WA households to receive at least $700 worth of electricity credits over the next 12 months.
For households requiring additional support including pensioners, veterans and Health Care Card holders further help is available through the Energy Assistance Payment, increasing total support to over $1,000, while for families with eligible concessions, more than $1,300 in support is available including the Dependent Child Rebate.
Western Australia's 90,000 small businesses are also seeing a big boost in support, with $725 worth of electricity credits now being provided.
The electricity credits are being supported by the Cook Labor Government, which allocated $400 to both households and small businesses in last week's State Budget, and the Albanese Federal Government, which provided $300 and $325 to households and small businesses respectively in yesterday's Federal Budget.
The boost to energy bill relief builds on a suite of cost of living measures already announced as part of the 2024-25 State Budget, including the $103.5 million WA Student Assistance Payment, which provides $150 per kindegarten or primary student and $250 per high school student for WA families, as well as free public transport initiatives, capped regional airfares, and boosting the Regional Pensioner Tarvel Card.
As stated by Premier Roger Cook:

"Delivering cost of living relief is one of our top priorities, and working with the Federal Labor Government, we're making sure every Western Australian household receives support.
"Through our commitment to cost of living support, every WA household will receive at least $700 in power bill relief over the next 12 months helping those doing it tough across the State."

"Every household in the State will now receive at least $700 in electricity credits, while 90,000 small businesses will have $725 knocked off their energy bills next financial year.
