Wanted Man Charged At Tamworth 3 May

A man – wanted on an outstanding warrant – has been charged in the state's north overnight.

About 1.20am today (Friday 3 May 2024), police attached to Oxley Police were patrolling Tamworth when they attended a business on Willis Street.

A short time later police with the assistance of the dog unit arrested a 33-year-old man, known to police.

He was subjected to a search where police located and seized suboxone strips and unauthorised prescription medication.

Checks revealed he was also wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant.

The man was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, and breach of bail.

Police also executed an outstanding arrest warrant for domestic violence, and breach of bail related offences.

He was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today (Friday 3 May 2024).
