Detectives have charged a man following investigations into approximately 100 suspicious fires in the Capricornia region this year, Queensland Police say.
It will be alleged that beginning in May a number of fires were deliberately lit in the areas of Alton Downs, Gracemere and Mount Morgan.
As a result of their investigations officers executed a search warrant on a property in Mount Morgan on August 8.
A 19-year-old Mount Morgan man has been charged with seven counts of setting fire to crops or growing plants.
He is due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on August 27.
Investigations are continuing.
