NSW Police Force regrets to announce the death of former Commissioner John Avery AO, APM, who passed away on Saturday 19 May 2018, aged 90 years.
Mr Avery is survived by his three children, Sue, Carol, Rick and their families.
Funeral details will be advised once final arrangements have been made.
The thoughts and prayers of the NSW Police Force are extended to the Avery family and friends at this sad time, NSW Police say.
