Drug Arrest Alice Springs

Members of the Cross Border Team and the Drug Intelligence Unit have arrested and charged a 41-year-old man found in possession of a commercial quantity of a schedule two dangerous drug on the weekend.

It is alleged just before 2:30pm on Saturday May 26 Detectives and Drug Detector Dog Jesse were conducting a search of the mans’ vehicle when Jesse located a blue cooler bag filled with cannabis in the back of the vehicle, Northern Territory Police say.

The man was found to have just under a kilogram of cannabis, with a potential street value of $24,000.

The man has been charged with one count each of Supply Schedule 2 dangerous drug – Commercial quantity; and Possess Schedule 2 dangerous drug – Commercial quantity, and will appear before the Alice Springs Local Court on 26 June 2018.
