Homicide Squad release identity of male who died after altercation in Dandenong North

Homicide Squad detectives are releasing the identity of a male that died as a result of injuries he sustained during an altercation on Carlton Road, Dandenong North, on Monday the 2nd of December 2019.

37-year-old Ahmet Gezer was involved in an altercation with a 31-year-old Dandenong North man between 5:00am and 5:30am on that date. The second male has been spoken to by Homicide Squad detectives and was released pending further enquiries. The investigation remains ongoing.

Homicide Squad detectives are now appealing for assistance from the public as they try to piece together the movements of Ahmet Gezer prior to his death. Detectives are interested in any information regarding places Ahmet frequented, associates and anyone he may have had contact with in the weeks prior to his death.

Detectives also continue to appeal to anyone in the Dandenong North area who may have observed anyone acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the Gladstone Road and Carlton Road intersection in Dandenong North in the early hours of Monday 2 December 2019, or may have witnessed the altercation between the two males, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
