Investigations underway following serious crash in Kingsgrove

A woman is in a critical condition following a serious crash on the M5 at Kingsgrove overnight, NSW Police say.

About 7.10pm today, a red Haval 4WD and a Yamaha scooter were both travelling east on the M5 motorway at Kingsgrove, when they were involved in a crash.

The 31-year-old male rider of the scooter suffered non-life threatening leg injuries and was taken to St George Hospital for treatment.

A 30-year-old female pillion passenger suffered serious head injuries and was also taken to St George Hospital in a critical condition.

The 47-year-old driver of the 4WD was not injured, but was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
