It is disappointing that the Labor-Green coalition are seeking to mislead Tasmanians regarding the Hotel Quarantine Wage Subsidy and Allowance initiative announced in December last year.
To be clear, payments to security staff working in hotels receiving international guests commenced during the week starting 25 January, when the deed enabling these payments to be made was signed.
Payments for staff working at domestic quarantine hotels are expected to commence shortly when the deeds enabling these payments are signed, with all workers to receive backpay for work undertaken.
I would urge the opposition parties to get the facts before trying to deceive Tasmanians about these important issues.
