A man will appear in court today after being charged with high range drink driving in Newcastle overnight, NSW Police say.
About 12.40am today (Saturday 13 January 2018), police were conducting stationary RBT operations on Kings Road at New Lambton.
Officers from Newcastle City Traffic & Highway Patrol attempted to stop a vehicle which continued.
The vehicle was eventually pulled over by officers in Glebe Road at Adamstown where the 34-year-old male driver failed a roadside breath test.
The man was arrested and conveyed to Newcastle Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis returning an alleged reading of 0.164.
The man was charged with driving with the high range concentration of alcohol, not obey direction of police and breach of bail.
The man was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Bail Court today (Saturday 13 January 2018).
