A man has been charged following a pursuit with a stolen truck, loaded with stolen baby formula in Condell Park earlier this week, NSW Police say.
About 7.35am on Tuesday (17 October 2017), officers from the Traffic & Highway Patrol Command attempted to stop a white Hino table top truck on Eldridge Road.
The driver failed to stop and a pursuit was commenced. The pursuit was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.
Following the pursuit, officers patrolled the area and located the truck in a nearby industrial complex on Willfox Street.
A 39-year-old man was arrested. Police will allege that he was the driver of the Hino truck and that the truck had been stolen from a Milperra address. Polcie will also allege the truck’s load – a large number of baby formula tins – had also been stolen from a break and enter in Regents Park.
The man was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with fail to stop police pursuit (Skye’s Law), drive whilst disqualified, and two first instance warrants. Inquiries are continuing into the truck and contents.
He appeared at Bankstown Local Court the same day and was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday 8 November 2017.
