Man charged with alleged drug importation in Roselands

A man has been charged following the alleged importation of restricted substances, including human growth hormone.

Following investigations, about 7.30am yesterday (Tuesday 15 January 2019), officers from Campsie Police Area Command executed two search warrants in Roselands; one at a shop on Canterbury Road, and another at a home on Remley Street.

At the home, it is alleged officers found and seized hundreds of vials and tablets that fall into the category of prescribed restricted substances.

Also seized was cash alleged to be the proceeds of crime.

A 28-year-old man was arrested and taken to Campsie Police Station, where he was charged with intentionally import prohibited tier 1 goods, possess prescribed restricted substance, recklessly deal with proceeds of crime, and two counts of restricted substance sold by non-wholesaler.

The man was refused bail and appeared before Burwood Local Court today (Wednesday 16 January 2019).

He was granted conditional bail and is next due to appear before the same court on 26 February 2019.

The seized substances will be forensically tested and inquiries continue.
