A man has been charged following investigations after several vending machines were broken into at railway stations in western and south-west Sydney, NSW Police say.
Between Friday 25 August and Saturday 25 November 2017, nine vending machines at Holsworthy, Padstow, Beverly Hills, Rooty Hill and Ingleburn railway stations were broken into and money stolen.
Extensive damage was done to each of the machines.
Following extensive investigations, officers from the Police Transport Command’s Transport Action Group, arrested a 47-year-old man at a home in St Clair about 8am today (Thursday 30 November 2017).
He was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with 27 total offences; larceny (x9), malicious damage (x9), and enter restricted area of train station (x9).
He was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today (Thursday 30 November 2017).
