A man has died in hospital two weeks after he was hit by a car while waiting for a bus in Sydney's north west.
Just after 2:30pm (Friday 29 March 2019), emergency services were called to the Stanhope Parkway at The Ponds, after reports a man had been hit by a Ford Focus as he waited at a bus stop.
A 72-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver, a 47-year-old woman from The Ponds, was taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers from Quakers Hills Police Area Command, together with officers from Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene and commenced inquiries.
On Saturday 30 March, the woman attended Riverstone Police Station where she was charged with dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and negligent driving.
She was granted bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Monday 15 April 2019.
On Saturday 6 April 2019, police were advised the 72-year-old man died in hospital.
Investigations are continuing and officers are investigating further charges.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
